data in accordance with Republic Act 10173 – Data Privacy Act of 2012,
its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), and relevant issuances of the National
Privacy Commission.
This Privacy Notice explains what personal data we collect,
why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and your
rights as a data subject.
1. Personal Data We Collect
In the course of your application and possible enrollment, we may collect
the following types of personal data:

Basic information – full name, age, date of birth, gender, civil status,
citizenship, religion, nationality, contact numbers, home and email addresses.

Academic information – previous school details, student number (for
existing TUA students), LRN (if applicable), grades, exam results, certificates such as
birth certificate, good moral / good conduct, and other admission requirements.

Family / guardian information – parents’/guardians’ names and contact
details, emergency contacts.

Identifiers & documents – government ID numbers, passport/visa details
(for international students), and similar records required for compliance.

Media & special categories – photos, videos and, where applicable,
medical or dental information, guidance or psychological assessment results, student
discipline records, and other student-related information needed in the course of your
study at TUA.
2. Purposes of Processing
Your personal data are collected and processed so that TUA can:
- Evaluate and process your application, admission, and registration.
- Create and maintain your official student record in our information systems.
- Process grades, assessments, exams, scholarships, internship and practicum placements.
- Generate statements of account, process payments, and manage school fees.
- Provide access to TAIMS, LMS, email, library, and other school services and platforms.
- Communicate official announcements, academic schedules, advisories, and student support information.
- Document and promote student life, achievements, and school activities
through official publications, social media, and other communication channels.
- Comply with requirements of CHED, DepEd, TESDA, PRC and other government
or regulatory bodies.
- Ensure the safety, security, and welfare of students within the University premises.
3. Data Retention
Applicant records are generally retained for up to one (1) year for follow-up
and statistical purposes. Once you become a student, your records form part of your
permanent student file and are retained as may be necessary to:
- Issue transcripts, certifications, and other school documents;
- Respond to verification requests (e.g., employers, institutions, government);
- Comply with legal, historical, and institutional requirements.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Your data may be shared only with:

Authorized TUA offices involved in admissions, academics, finance, guidance,
clinic, campus ministry, student affairs, and IT services;

Partner institutions for internship, practicum, community engagement, and similar programs;

Government agencies such as CHED, DepEd, TESDA, PRC, and others, when required by law;

Service providers (e.g., IT, payment, communication platforms) under appropriate
data-sharing or data-processing agreements.
TUA does not sell your personal data.
5. How We Protect Your Data
TUA uses organizational, physical, and technical security measures such as:
- Access controls and role-based permissions on systems;
- Secure storage and transmission of records where appropriate;
- Staff training on data privacy and confidentiality;
- Retention and disposal policies aligned with NPC guidelines.
6. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:
- Be informed – to be notified how your data will be collected and used;
- Access – to request a copy of your personal data that we hold;
- Rectification – to correct inaccurate or outdated information;
- Object – to refuse or withdraw consent to certain processing activities, when legally permissible;
- Erasure or blocking – to request deletion of data that are no longer necessary or lawfully processed;
